Mudman's Winter Protection Program
Mudman Bonsai Company specializes in tropical and sub-tropical bonsai trees. These type of trees make for very good indoor bonsai. But, we have to get them from here to there. Cold weather becomes more of an issue for tropical bonsai trees. During winter, we cannot ship trees if the temperature falls below 35 degrees anywhere between South Florida and the purchasers location. from 35 and up we can ship, using heat packs from 35 to 49 degrees. Heat packs will only heat up a boxed tree about 15 degrees. So what happens if you see that sub tropical/tropical tree you just have to have and you have freezing temperatures outside where you live? Well, you can pass it up and hope someone further south does not buy that tree before spring time. Or, you can join the "Mudman's Winter Protection Program".
How does the Mudman's Winter Protection Program work?
It works like this:
If your geographical area, or anywhere between South Florida and your location is below that 35 degree threshold, the Mudman's Winter Protection Program could be perfect for you. If you see a tree you would like to purchase, Mudman Bonsai Company will hold and take care of your bonsai until it is safe to ship to your location. We will nurture your tree including, but not limited to, keeping it trimmed, fertilization and vitamins.
How does your tree enter the Mudman's Winter Protection Program?
If you want to purchase a specific bonsai tree, you will need to contact us at email@example.com and notify us of which tree you would like to purchase and enter into the Winter Protection Program. A 30% deposit calculated from the selected tree's price is required to enter the Winter Protection Program. The tree will then be removed from any selling medium Mudman Bonsai Company may use. That's all! Your tree is now in the Mudman's Winter Protection Program.
How do I get my tree out of the Winter Protection Program?
Once the weather becomes safe to ship to your location, Mudman Bonsai Company will send an initial notice via email of our intent to ship your tree along with an invoice with the balance remaining (70% of the trees sales price) will be due at this time. Once the balance is received, we will ship your tree. If the balance is not received within three days of the original notice of intent to ship and invoice email, a second notice of intent to ship the tree and invoice will be sent via email. If the balance is not received within seven days from the second notice of intent to ship the tree, the tree will be put back up for sale and the deposit will be unfortunately forfeited. We would prefer to ship your tree, than keep your deposit. But, since we take the tree off the market for what could be a few months, we feel it is fair. If you have a valid reason for not completing the sale in those ten days and still want the tree, you will need to contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
What if something happens to the tree while in the Mudman's Winter Protection Program?
Trees are living things, and like everything else living, trees can get sick and pass on. If something like this should happen while in the Mudman's Winter Protection Program, we will refund 100% of your deposit, or you may select another tree of equal value, your choice. You can also choose a tree of greater value, but must pay the difference.
